Ten-year-old Denisa Gabor lives with her family in a makeshift encampment in Poland. As a small child, her hearing began to deteriorate until she was no longer able to hear or speak. Denisa uses dance to express herself and nurtures a deep love for Bollywood music and film. THE QUEEN OF SILENCE explores the perspective of a unique child who lives a precarious life at the margins of society.

Agnieszka Zwiefka obtained her Ph.D. in New Media in 2007 and since then has worked as a lecturer of television journalism and interactive films at the University of Wroclaw. In 2010 she founded the company Chilli Productions, which focuses on creative documentaries. THE QUEEN OF SILENCE is her feature-length debut.
